동변상련의 (Of Sympathy)

By | 6 August 2011

Like a soul, round the corner into the next world
out of the body with its residence expired,
yearning to see
her body again
that carried joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure
and labored for all her life,
she,

turned the car around and entered the password of her house.

The sounds of spoons, laughter, documents and clothes,
furniture, scars, and memory
have left
the house and cooled down completely.

She knelt down and rubbed the times endured altogether.

She gave it CPR. In the signs of recognition
with a slightly moving mouth, she,

as if giving travelling expenses, took off the sunshine rising from the east
with the tongue’s tip and covered it.
Half-cooked rice,

my rice
that just imitated
a high, solitary, and lonely spirit,
the house has enjoyed the meals for such long years,
she made a deep bow to the house
and turned around.
