Iris Fan Xing holds a PhD from the University of Western Australia entitled 'In a Foreign Voice: A Creative and Critical Response to Australian and Chinese Women’s Poetry After 1949'. She is the author of two bilingual (Chinese - English) poetry collections: Lost in the Afternoon (2009), which was awarded first prize in the Poetry Section of the Hong Kong Literary Awards in 2011, and South of Words (2018).
