Soohyun Yang

Soohyun Yang is a freelance translator and interpreter based in Seoul. After earning a BA from Western University and an MA from Toronto Metropolitan University, she completed the Regular Course at LTI Korea’s Translation Academy. Yang has translated and published poems of Jin Eun-Young, Ha Jaeyoun, and Kim Haengsook. The translations have appeared in Modern Poetry in Translation (Winter 2016), Korean Literature Now (Winter 2019) and The Poems of Hwang Yuwon, Ha Jaeyoun, and Seo Daekyung (Vagabond Press, 2020), Gothenburg Book Fair (2019), and Seoul Wowbook Festival (2017) respectively. Recently she has co-translated Human Time: Selected Poems by Kim Haengsook (Black Ocean, 2023) and The Great Epics (Daegu Art Museum, 2020), a catalogue of The Lee In-sung Art Prize 20th Anniversary Exhibition.
