A Ramones t-shirt, tight, and a grandmother’s
tartan shrunken to a skirt that covers

not much, a jacket, an XL jacket, a heavy navy
and no frills. But the colour of shame
flushed cheeks – there is a strain, a

tension between how a good
middle class, white, Christian girl should dress
and how this one is
