michelangelo 143

By | 1 May 2017

as pieces of my life fall away
each day smaller and fewer remaining
compressed
into this shrinking space the fire
burns more ferociously and the sky
has never been known to lend a hand
to an old lag in a tight place you know
even this is not enough a passion
so hot stone might forget itself
let alone desire I’m thankful
shut in these flames my heart
cannot last and so I escape
life as your victim you have no
interest in the dead
