Ioana Vintilă

Born in 1997 in Sibiu, Romania, Ioana Vintilă is a biotech engineer, with a MSc in Molecular Biotechnology. In 2016, she won the second prize at PEN International New Voices Award for her poems. Her first poetry collection, Birds in the sandstorm (2018), was published by Max Blecher Editorial House. Her latest collection, the origami bunker, was published in 2022. Selections of poems from the second book were published in the Swedish magazine Lyrikvännen (translated by Lina Rydén Reynolds), the American journals mercury firs, The Los Angeles Review, The Ilanot Review, The Hyacinth Review, The Ana, table/FEAST, ITERANT and the Australian journal Kalliope X (translated by Clara Burghelea).
