About Mandy Beaumont
A poet and artist, Mandy was the 2012 Poet in Residence at the State Library of Queensland, is undertaking a Research Masters in Creative Writing at QUT and was highly commended in the Val Vallis Award, NSW Writers Centre best self published book, PressPress Award and appeared in Best Australian Poems. Published and performed widely, Mandy has also had her poems commissioned for various bars and cafes, the side of Brisbane’s Ferries, for Brisbane Festival, on electronic signage for the Write around the Murray Festival and for telephone signal boxes on the streets of Brisbane. She served as one of the managers of the Queensland Poetry Festival and ran the Brisbane Writers Festival poetry events for many years. She was also the Director of Poetry After Dark at the Zoo nightclub and currently runs SPOKEN at the State Library of Queensland.
