Juno Gemes

Juno Gemes is one of Australia’s most celebrated contemporary photographers. She has spent 40 years documenting the changing social political and literary landscapes of Australia in both words and images. Alongside her more public projects, she has spent more than three decades chronicling the lives of writers in Australia, UK and USA. Gemes's exhibition Proof: Portraits of the Movement was exhibited at The National Portrait Gallery in 2003 and toured Australia and USA until 2008. Gemes photographs are published worldwide, and her works are collected by many art galleries and museums. Gemes is married to poet Robert Adamson. Together they ran Paper Bark Press, publishing award-winning poetry titles from 1987-2010.
