Oksana Maksymchuk

Oksana Maksymchuk is the author of two award-winning books of poetry in the Ukrainian language, Xenia (2005) and Catch (2009). Her translations have appeared in Best European Fiction (Dalkey Archive Press), Berlin Quarterly, London Magazine, Words Without Borders. In 2014 she was co-awarded the Joseph Brodsky-Stephen Spender Prize, one of the top awards for poetic translation from the Russian language. She works as an assistant professor in the Philosophy Department of the University of Arkansas and is currently co-editing Words for War: New Poems from Ukraine, a NEH-funded poetry anthology (forthcoming with Academic Studies Press and Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute).

2 Translated Borys Humenyuk Poems

Borys Humenyuk was born in Ternopil, Ukraine. He is an award-winning poet and the author of two novels, Lukianivka and Island. He played an active role in Ukraine’s 2013 Revolution of Dignity. Since 2014, he has been involved in anti-terrorist operations in the Ukrainian Donbas region.
