Carol Watts

Carol Watts lives in London, where she directs the Contemporary Poetics Research Centre at Birkbeck College. Her poetry includes the collections Sundog (Veer Books, 2013) Occasionals (Reality Street Editions, 2011) and Wrack (Reality Street Editions, 2007), and the artist’s book of prose chronicles alphabetise (2005). Her chapbooks include the series When blue light falls (Oystercatcher, 2008, 2010, 2012), this is red (Torque Press, 2009) and the sonnet sequences Mother Blake and brass, running (2006), both with Equipage. Collaboration is increasingly central to her practice. Current projects include work for dance and voice with choreographer Kate Johnson, and a libretto for soprano Barbara Hannigan and composer Dave Maric. Her collaboration with Will Montgomery has been ongoing since 2010.
