Alicia Valasse

Alicia Valasse is a St. Lucian poet and writer. Her poetry has been published in journals and anthologies including Susumba's Book Bag, Literature Today, Harlequin Magazine, The Caribbean Writer. She has also published short fiction in Susumba’s Book Bag and The Caribbean Writer. She was awarded the Creative Journalism Prize at the 2013 Saint Lucia National Arts Festival, the award for Most Outstanding Youth in Literary Arts at the 2012 and 2014 National Youth Awards (Saint Lucia) and shortlisted for the 2015 Small Axe Literary Poetry Prize. She is also the winner of the 2016 Canute A. Bodhurst Prize for best short fiction. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts Degree in English Language.
