I Miss that Starry-eyed Feeling of Being with You
I miss that starry-eyed feeling of being with you,
of shattering silence with slow-moving words,
of leaping into your hastened ideas,
of setting the calm alight,
of capturing frenzy with serenity while we read
the future’s forecast in the afternoons
over the ever sweet darkness
that only you and I understood.
I miss the euphoria of waiting for you at the station,
wavering in the rapids
of your streaming, restless accent
and running across that mystical bridge
born from between our gaze,
imagining the touch of the water that you carried in snowflakes.
You floated on the waves and rays of sunshine
they/that covered you in the scent of a forest plunge
and I was the sempiternal reflection in your glass eyes.
I miss that starry-eyed feeling of being with you.
