OZ Lingual: A Refugee’s Dictionary of Home

Mo Sudi is a Somali Australian poet, spoken word performer and calligrapher based in Melbourne. He is a member of the Calligraphy Society of Victoria CSV and Melbourne Poets Union MPU. His work combines poetry, Somali oral storytelling and Arabic calligraphy to explore migration, resilience, identity, community and belonging. Drawing on his childhood in Mogadishu and his experiences as a refugee, Mo transforms displacement into stories of hope, humour and cultural pride.
