Shin Cheol Gyu

Shin Cheol Gyu was born in Geochang, Gyeongsangnam-do in 1980. He debuted as a poet in 2011 and won the Chosun Ilbo New Writers Contest for his poem ‘Drift Ice’. He published his first poetry collection, Sad as the Earth, in 2017, and secondary poetry collection, higher than the heart, in 2023. His poem ‘Higher than the Heart’ was selected as the winner of the 2018 Today’s Poetry Award by fellow writers and poets. He has also been awarded the Shin Dong Yeop Literary Prize and Kim Choon Su Literary Prize.
