Ofelya Suqiasyan

Ofelya Sukiasyan was born on April 16, 1990 in Yerevan, Armenia. She studied at Yerevan State University from 2007 to 2013, in Romance-Germanic Philology Faculty and earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees with honour in English Language and Literature. She’s mastered four languages – Armenian, English, Russian and Italian. She launched her translations career with Akos, a cultural NGO, as Translator, Coordinator of International Projects where she puts her professional knowledge of a linguist / translator into practice. There she provides translations (both in written and oral form) of the programs, presentations, videos, interviews of foreign artists, also supports them during their residency in Armenia. In the period of October 2014 - May 2015 she had her internship as a Translator in UN Office in Yerevan, Department of Public Information. She is currently at Ministry of Health RA, “Republican Centre of Humanitarian Assistance” SNCO, as a Translator. Here she is responsible for provision, accuracy and literacy of foreign and local correspondence; general translation from English into Armenian and vice-versa (also Russian-Armenian and Armenian-Russian)); interpretation (for foreign visitors); medical translation, translating and renaming of the list of medical supplies, collection and translation of general / visual information about their usage, etc.; delivering linguistic assistance to the working group of the organisation, as well as providing the staff with weekly newsfeed/media related to the health sector.
