Max Ryan is a disabled man who sometimes identifies as a poet. He has lived for the past 35 years on Bundjalung country in northeastern NSW, his father’s birthplace. Rainswayed Night, his first book of poetry, won the Anne Elder Award. He is lead singer and lyricist with the band Hexham.
