Maria Nilad

Maria Nilad studied environmental geography at the University of Sydney and poetry with PocketMFA, where she was mentored by Grant Chemidlin. She co-edited the anthology Sibol: Filipino Youth Voices on the Climate Crisis (2023), and writes the Substack newsletter Soulful Resistance. Maria likes to say she lives in an archipelago, but really she lives in dense Metro Manila. She is completing her first collection of poetry.
