Jamil Badi

Jamil Badi is a writer living on unceded Wurundjeri land. Inspired by oral storytelling practices, his work primarily consists of folktales which aim to blend the properties of the spoken word with the written. His fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction has appeared in Meanjin, Overland online, Island online, Cordite, Voiceworks and elsewhere. He is also a recipient of the Wheeler Centre’s 2026 Next Chapter Mentorship.
