Cate Furey

Cate Furey is an emerging poet living, working and parenting on Ngunnawal land (Canberra, ACT). She writes in snippets, and has spent many years travelling at the slower and often faster pace of children, creating in the cracks. By day she is a graphic designer. In 2024 Cate won the June Shenfield National Poetry Award and last year was awarded second prize in the Finding Beauty Poetry Prize - both administered by Marion (formerly the ACT Writing Centre). A long time ago she completed a Masters in Creative Writing at UTS.
