Cameron Leko Sollar

Cameron Leko Sollar is a writer and painter based out of Canberra. He has just completed his studies at the University of Canberra completing a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. His work draws on his experiences living in liminal spaces in Australia, drawing on the hybridity between his father’s Papua New Guinean heritage and his Mother’s European ancestry. Cameron finds inspiration in the stories that are left untold, those often brushed over in the name of good taste or politeness, he instead focuses his lens on the outsider, people who he feels haven’t had a voice in the larger Australian landscape. He wants his work to act as somewhat of an agitator, making readers reconsider the marginalised individuals and those in a state of cultural flux.
