Andrew Menken

After completing a BA in English literature and German at the University of Newcastle, Andrew Menken received a Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship and began a PhD in poetry in 2020. Many of his poems are imaginative explorations of his little hometown of Budgewoi on the Central Coast of Australia. Andrew's work has previously been published in SWAMP, The Suburban Review, Quadrant and Westerly. He was recently awarded a Bouddi Foundation for the Arts Grant and the 2021 Allen and Unwin Award for creative writing. In his free time, Andrew likes to write songs and play acoustic guitar.
