THE TASMANIAN wolf is a ferocious animal with a large wolf-like head, medium-sized ears, a large muzzle and very strong teeth, it is tawny-colored, its hair Is fairly short and its back is marked with black bands. It measures about three feet eight inches to the base of its tail. Its tail is long and very stiff-looking and is covered with short, coarse hair. It is a nocturnal animal and lives in rocky caves in mountains. Inset shows the Tasmanian wolf’s powerful jaws and the great width of its mouth.
