Manifesting across internet, video and assemblage-based installations,
Marian Tubbs’s (born 1983, Sydney, Australia) art conflates material binaries between body and object, physical and virtual, and high and low culture. Her precarious and pleasurable assemblage-based installations act to slow down accelerated modes of looking at aesthetics of powerlessness, and to critique cultural ascriptions of value.
