‘Form Work’ explores architectural forms, lines and shapes that are depicted in architectural drafting. The combination of abstracted overlapping lines conveys the busy, overwhelming Melbournians’ lives and experience. The visual representation seeks to communicate these overwhelming but symmetrically constructed tasks we must overcome day to day.
As a young artist/architect,
Guled Abdulwasi aspires to better express the connection between people and their environment. He hopes to harmonise architecture and our natural environment for where he comes from; they are not always in sync. He aspires to produce leading works which service communities. His combined interests in visual art and photography have fuelled his passion for architecture. Through architecture, he can fuse these elements to design a future that address the challenges he faced and the challenges he foresees. He hopes that the next child who faces forced relocation does not face his same challenges.
