Search Poems a Go-Go!

6 January 2004

Happy New Year to all our readers, and what better way to kick out the jams than with a fresh batch of poems – Search Poems, to be exact.

Cordite's very pleased to present, in conjunction with the Poetry Espresso mailing list, this selection of poems (our sixteenth issue, and our tenth online), written using Internet search engines. While it might sound a little crazy, we're firm believers in the creative potential of Internet technologies, and these poems certainly prove that creativity is not the exclusive domain of bearded bards on tall mountain peaks, or ascetic scribblers whipping themselves in garretts.

Feast your eyes upon Ruark Lewis' awesome cover image, plus works by a diverse range of poets, including Cassie Lewis (whose introduction explains the genesis of the project), Adam Ford, Jill Jones, Claire Gaskin, Shelia Murphy, Nick Whittock, Dana Patillo and many more.

Our Driver issue (#17) will appear online in February and submissions are now open for Issue #18 – Roots. In the meantime, why not plug a search term of your own into the Cordite search engine (top right hand corner of this and every page) and see what you come up with. Over to you!
