The third annual Overload Poetry Festival is being held in Melbourne and various regional centres, beginning on Wednesday 11th August and continuing for two weeks of jam-flavoured poetry action. We?ve got a copy of the festival program available for download (in PDF format) and it should also be accessible on the Overload website real soon.

Some special events to watch out for, all of which involve current or former Cordite uber-editors:

Wednesday 11th August, 8pm: Opening Ceremony, featuring a stellar lineup of poets and dancers including yours truly!

Monday 16th August, 8pm: La Mama Poetica, starring Terry Jaensch, alicia sometimes and more!

Wednesday 18th August, 7pm: New-ku, a follow-up to last year?s hugely successful Roo-ku event; plus, later that night, a bonus night of Babble mayhem!

In addition there?s workshops, open mikes, cabaret and stacks more in locations as various as Warburton, Ballarat and Gellong. I?m exhausted just thinking about it.
