Cordite Editor News

24 October 2005

Never being ones to forego the chance to blow our own collective trumpet, we're pleased and excited to announce that long-term Cordite editor Ivy Alvarez will have her poetry manuscript, Mortal, published by Red Morning Press in the US in 2006. Ivy's indie-poetry label The Private Press is also calling for “poems that relive the weirdness and wonder of David Lynch's Twin Peaks for an exciting chapbook anthology, A Slice of Cherry Pie.” Dianne?

Not to be outdone, Mr Sean M. Whelan, he of Babble fame, recently put on a show for the Melbourne Fringe Festival entitled “Death To Your Dreams”. You can check out some pics from the show.

Meanwhile, our reviews editor Ali Alizadeh is currently teaching in Wuhan, China – expect an article on his experiences in our next issue.

Our poetry editor, Liam Ferney is heading overseas for a while too. We're pleased to announce that our guest poetry editor for Cordite #24 (on a theme yet to be announced) will be Claire Gaskin.

Finally, the Cordite H.Q. has temporarily moved to Seoul in the Republic of Korea. We may or may not be putting out a special Korean poetry feature but one thing is for sure – we're everywhere.

Well you're not quite everywhere. You weren't on the Enmore Road in Newtown this morning for example.

But otherwise I applaud your moves toward global domination.

Yes, I was waiting for someone to point that out.
